The water to be treated is sent into the machine after having filtered out the bigger particles, mucilage, and any mud in order to prevent rapid blocking of the pipes and membranes.

Special care has been given to the choice of materials used for the internal hydraulic circuit, since it is in constant contact with liquid with a high saline content.

Plastic for food purposes was chosen both for the pipes and for the fittings, as well as for the valves and the electro-magnetic pumps.

The equipment is to be connected by pipe adduction to the source of the water that is to be desalinated and, through a drainage pipe, to an accumulation tank from which the user can draw the fresh water produced.

The unit is able to process 120/150 litres/hour of water with a 50,000/40,000 μs/cm of conductivity, typical of sea water.
If the water source to be desalinated is less saline (25,000 - 5,000 μs/cm as, for example, with brackish water typical of underground aquifers) hourly production will be significantly increased (approximately 200 to 600 litres/hour).

The system functions with autonomy. It is possible, with an interface panel which has a display, to set the level of salinity in the fresh water produced, in addition to checking many other parameters (Ph, temperature, etc.).

The unit is set up for remote control and interventions through internet.

The power supply can be done, upon request, using electrical grid with single phase or three phase voltage, renewable energy sources such as solar panels or wind generators, or any electrical energy generator both in AC or in DC. It is advisable for anti-bacterial post-filtration to be carried out on the desalinated water through the installation of a ceramic Luise filter.
